Promises to Keep
Kagome knew she should be happy for her friends, but as she watched the excitement as they worked to build the hut, she felt unbearably sad. Sango was busy chatting with other women from the village as their husbands helped erect the structure. Of course InuYasha was drafted due to his strength, but not without some amount of grumbling about it. Hed said the one good thing was that maybe with a hut, Miroku could confine his groping of his soon-to-be wife to the privacy of his home. Sango still did not approve of such affections in public, even if they were promised to be wed. As it was he was still sporting the remains of a bright red h

Bouquets Aren't Always Flowers
My, what a wonderful bouquet, Jii-chan said to himself as he swirled the cask of sake and took a sniff.
InuYasha had come through the well to find only Kagomes grandfather in the house. Holding his sleeve over his nose he asked, What you going on about, Jiiji?
The aged priest nearly jumped out of his skin and barely missed dropping his drink. Oh, its just you. I was about to enjoy a cup of sake.
The hanyou still had his sleeve over his nose. Smells like youve already been in it. Is that why you think theres flowers in there?

Never Better
His hand, moving under the bed cover, slipped softly over the curve of her hip, sliding over her silky smooth skin as she rested next to him. All was quiet and peaceful. There was very little sound except their even breathing, the beating of their hearts. InuYasha loved these moments in the middle of the night when the fire burned low and the world closed down to just the two of them lying in the darkness, moments where there was no one else in existence that mattered or had a demand on their time and attention.

I just found this completed story in my folders – and I only vaguely even remember writing it. I think I wrote it back about two years ago – it was one of my earlier stories, though I have no idea why I never posted it. I was in a bad Kikyou mood at the time, annoyed at her arrogance, always claiming that she was the one that was going to kill Naraku, and then stealing the jewel shards and giving them to him, which only made him stronger. It made me think on the consequences for what she did – he killed a LOT more people after making those incarnations than he could have before, so she was DIRECTLY responsible for all those deaths. And it was all because of her own hubris. I think that's why, though sometimes I feel bad for what happened to her in the past, I really just don't feel all that sympathetic – her arrogance just turns me against her in the end. Her only saving grace was that she did, finally, come down off her high horse and realize that she wasn't all that right before she died again. Funny enough that it was AFTER Kagome healed her that time. Most Kikyou-shippers don't take note of that... or want to admit it.
Anyway, for what it's worth, here's an old story that's never been posted before – a view of what I would have liked to see in the manga – an Inuyasha that wasn't such a blinded fool over his oh so perfect Kikyou.
